The sailing ban imposed at Piraeus during the severe weather was expected to lift at 9 a.m. on Thursday 15 October, with ferries preparing to board passengers and vehicles. Sailings scheduled earlier that morning did not leave, and later departures were to restart gradually in the order set by the ferry companies, weather permitting.

Services between Piraeus and the Saronic Gulf islands, by both conventional ferry and hydrofoil, depended on conditions and on each captain's judgement.

Morning sailings from Rafina to the Cyclades did not run, apart from the route to Marmari on Evia, and all morning departures from Lavrio were suspended. A further update on how services would run for the rest of the day was expected at noon, and passengers were advised to check with their ferry company before heading to the port.
